Update Users' Information via Actions

Update users' information so that they have the correct access and are listed accurately in reports. This article covers how to update information for a single or multiple users via Actions (without creating an upload file).

Some user information can only be updated via certain methods, review the list below to identify which method is needed for what you want to achieve.

  • Only possible via Edit User: Email Address, Methodology Access, Company-Wide Admin Permissions.

  • Only possible via Edit User or File Upload: Title, Name.

  • Possible via any method (Edit User, File Upload, or Actions): Reports To, Functional Area, Region, Custom Fields.

Updates can be made to multiple users at once when using the File Upload or Actions methods. The Edit User method only updates a single user at-a-time.

Update Users' Manager via Actions

  1. In the user table or hierarchy view, select the checkbox for each of the users you want to update.

  2. Select Actions then Assign a Manager.

  3. Select the manager to assign these users to.

  4. Select Assign to confirm the change.

The users' updated information should now display in the table.

A user can only have one manager. Selecting a new manager will move them to report under that person instead of their previous manager.

Update Users' Region, Functional Area, or Custom Fields via Actions

  1. In the user table, select the checkbox for each of the users you want to update.

  2. Select Actions then Update Fields.

  3. Select each Field and Value to assign to the selected users.

    1. If you want to just remove the current value a user has for field and not assign a new value, then select the Field and then <Clear Value>.

  4. Select Update to confirm the change.

The users' updated information should now display in the table.
