Check License Availability

In order to reactivate a user, there must be an unoccupied Ascender license available. The Total Users summary count at the top of the My Team tab of Team Management shows the number of occupied vs purchased Ascender licenses.

The My Team tab with the Total Users summary count of 22 of 23 outlined with an orange box.
This company has 22 of their 23 Ascender licenses available, so they can reactivate up to 1 user.

  1. Filter the User Status column to only show Inactive users.

  2. Select the checkbox for each of the users you need to reactivate.

    1. Tip: Use filters to narrow down the user list.

  3. Select Actions then Reactivate.

  4. Confirm that you need to reactivate the user(s).

    1. If more than one user was selected, they will all be reactivated.

This will reactivate the selected users and they will receive an email notification letting them know that they can now access the platform again.

If your company has any methodologies on an Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) model, then previously consumed licenses will change back to consumed upon reactivation. If you have already reassigned that methodology license and do not have any others free, you will not be able to reactivate that user until your true-up your ELA. Reach out to your FM account manager if you need to do so.

Additional Information

  • Reassign Content: Deactivating a user removes them from assignments. After reactivating a user, add them back to each assignment that they still need to complete (if the enrollment is still open). If the enrollment has closed, you will need to create a new assignment instead. Team Management → Assignments → General

  • Add Back into Manager Hierarchy: After reactivating a user, add them back into the manager hierarchy by assigning a manager for them. If the reactivated user is a manager themselves, then also assign them as a manager for their direct reports. Update Users' Information via Actions
