Follow the below steps to install a new/updated version of OM into our sandbox environment.
Why would I update sandbox?
Our developer creates a "patch" link anytime OM has updates — anything from bug fixes to major feature releases. A "patch" is a new download link that we and our customers use to install the updates. We always install new patches into our own sandbox first to test each new feature.
How do I update sandbox?
-
Login to our .omdemo sandbox: https://forcemanagement--omdemo.sandbox.my.salesforce.com/
-
Look at the patch link. Copy the link beginning at the word "Packaging" (don't include the / ahead of it)
-
Go back to your browser where you're logged into sandbox
-
Delete the portion of the web address starting at the word "Lightning" (don't include the / ahead of it)
-
Paste the patch link portion you've copied in place of what you deleted
-
Press enter to launch the web address
-
Select "Install for All Users" and check the acknowledgement checkbox
-
Click Install
-
Done!
You'll most likely see a message after a few minutes saying "The app is taking a long time to update…" That's okay and common. You can click "Done" if that message pops up, and you'll receive an email in a few minutes saying the update is complete.
How can I confirm that I've updated OM?
If you didn't get the email noted above, or just need to verify what version is installed:
-
Login to Salesforce/Sandbox
-
Click the gear icon in the top-right corner
-
Select "Setup"
-
Search the Quick Find box for "Installed Packages" and select it
-
Find Opportunity Manager in the list and view the number in the "Version Number" column — this tells you what version is currently installed
