Outlines the steps & scenarios for deactivating an Opportunity Manager license key.
Why would I deactivate a license key?
-
If a client purchased more licenses, a new license key was provided to the client, and the client has activated the new key.
-
If a client renewed OM, a new license key was provided to the client, and the client has activated the new key.
Never deactivate a client's license key until the most recently provided license key has been activated by the client. If there is no active license key, the client does not have access to OM. See Managing The Active Licenses Report to learn how to know when a license has been activated by a client.
How do I deactivate a license key?
-
Begin from the Active OM Licenses Report
-
Verify the newest license key has been activated within the client's SFDC (the license key with the most recent "Created Date" will have a date in "Last Verified" and a number in "Installed Version" if activated — if those fields are empty, do not proceed)
-
Click the link within the "App License Name" field for the license key you are deactivating (LIC - ####)
-
Click the edit pencil within the "Status" field
-
Select "Inactive" from the status drop-down
-
Click "Save"
-
Return to the Active OM Licenses Report and confirm the deactivated key is no longer showing
You do not need to communicate license deactivation to the client — they will not be impacted or aware, as long as they have a new, active key.
