Opportunity Manager®: Knowledge & Support

Creating a License Key

Outlines the steps of creating an Opportunity Manager license key for a new or existing client.

What is a license key?

A license key is built by Force Management within Salesforce and provided to an Opportunity Manager customer. Each license key is unique to the customer's organization. When a customer activates their license key, they gain the ability to access Opportunity Manager and assign their purchased licenses.

When do I create a license key?

  • Immediately after an Implementation Call

  • When a client changes the number of licenses they've purchased

  • When a client renews Opportunity Manager

  • Any other change of expiration date

You do not need to create a license key when a customer updates Opportunity Manager to a newer version.

How do I create a license key?

  1. Login to Force Management's SFDC Environment

  2. Navigate to the account for the customer who needs the key

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the "App Licenses" section

  4. Click "New"

  5. Fill in the required fields:

    1. Expiration Date — find this date within the SOW. Should be co-terminus with any other subscription purchased (Ascender, Command Center, etc.)

    2. Primary Contact — the client-org person who will be the main contact for OM communication

    3. Number of CoM Seats — from the SOW (enter "0" if MEDDPICC only)

    4. Number of MEDDPICC Seats — from the SOW (enter "0" if CoM only)

    5. MEDDPICC Variant — select the purchased variant (MEDDICC, etc.), found in the SOW (skip if CoM only)

    6. Number of Read Only Licenses — reference the SOW; if purchased, read-only licenses are unlimited, so enter a large number (5000+). Note: "Enablement Platform Bundle/Subscription" customers always get read-only licenses even if not explicitly mentioned in the SOW.

If you're ever unsure about any of the above information, reach out to the FM seller for clarification.

  1. Click "Save"

  2. You'll be brought to the "App License" page showing summary details

  3. Click "Mark Status as Complete" to generate the license key

  4. The license key will be generated within the designated field

  5. Send the license key to the customer!
